Shunning from crazy dinner crowds? Head to Third Place @ MedTech

A common problem that I face whenever I'm out with my friends for dinner is actually finding a place. It's always so crowded at the malls and even the kopitiams are packed with families and screaming kids. Very often, I find myself queuing and growing angry because I'm hungry. So, if you also face the same woes as I do, check out Third Place @ Med Tech.
This restaurant has two lives - in the day, it's a canteen for the workers in its surrounding Jurong industrial estate. At about 5 or 6pm, the stalls' shutters come down and the eatery transforms into its second identity - a bar/zi char paradise. This quiet outlet not only promises some zen space from the maddening dinner crowds. You'll also find a bar area that serves craft beers so order a pine or two to celebrate the joy of dining in peace. Of course, they'll go well with the food you order later.
The menu reveals a wide variety of zi char dishes such as pork rib with honey peach (from $15), stir-fried assorted vegetables (from $16) and their signature salted egg cheese crab (seasonal price). Overall, it's a very chill out venue for small or big group and since it's smacked right in the middle of the industrial estate, the journey there can be a bit dark at night. Driving in is an easier option but if you don't have a car - like me - getting in via a bus (246 or 249 from Boon Lay bus interchange) is also doable. Oh, and there's no service charge.
Third Place @ MedTech is located at 2 Tukang Innovation Grove.
